The summer of 2006 will mark the inaugural season of Future Stars Golf &
Tennis Camp at The Canyon Club. Future Stars’ experience in summer camp
programming and The Canyon Club’s outstanding facilities, make this program
a perfect fit. For 27 years Future Stars has been one of the preeminent
operators of camps, clubs, and junior development programs in Westchester,
Fairfield, Nassau & Suffolk counties, but never before have we been so
excited about a new offering. This is a unique opportunity to combine two
lifetime sports into an unforgettable camp experience right in the heart of
Westchester.
Facilities
150 acres, 14 beautifully manicured
Har-Tru tennis courts, full service pro shop, 18 hole golf course, driving
range, mid & short iron range, putting greens, chipping & pitching areas,
practice traps, 25 yard outdoor pool, boys and girls locker rooms, sports
field, volleyball court, indoor recreation room.
The
Golf
Program
The golf program is tailored to the individual abilities and needs of each
camper. The emphasis will be on developing a solid fundamental swing that
works for each camper. Proper practice habits will be reinforced to enhance
performance. Lectures, demonstrations, and drill sessions, in all aspects of
the game, will be incorporated daily. Driving, long and short iron range
sessions, chipping, pitching, sand play and putting will be practiced
regularly. Our goal is to increase enjoyment and maximize performance. All
campers that have demonstrated reasonable control of their swing and
understanding of course etiquette will have the opportunity to play on the
course. Rules and regulations will also be reviewed.
The
Tennis Program
is
individually designed to methodically challenge
players
of all levels and ages, 6 - 16.
Throughout the week campers will
be encouraged to enhance their strokes and strategies via group lessons,
skill building drills, organized play, individual attention, video sessions,
target training, fitness routines and more. All campers are carefully
grouped by the tennis director based on skill level and age.
